See "Free Speech and Patron Privacy are Corequisites for Intellectual Freedom," by the Social Justice Librarian, 26 August 2008.

So let me clarify. The only words I actually said were, besides the title of this blog:

"Here is a librarian exposing the big secret: 'She specifically cited instances of known sex offenders using library computers to view pornography – 'Sometimes in close proximity to children,' the report said.' Here is what happens when a librarian exposes the big secret:"

That's it.

I just don't see where I'm "defending the author’s whistleblowing."

Instead I am saying what she has written about is likely much more prevalent than anyone really knows. The ALA says the same thing when it says book "banning" is many times more prevalent than anyone really knows. Judith Krug of the ALA said exactly this only recently.

Then when I said "Here is what happens when a librarian exposes the big secret," I did not have in mind one way or another to "defend the author." My interest is only in exposing the illegal activity going on in public libraries.

Be that as it may, I appreciate the attention from the Social Justice Librarian and encourage people to look at his/her blog. But...when someone publishes a book through Publish America what would one expect. Ms.Sally Stern Hamilton AKA Ann Miketa IMHO suffers from what she acuses many of the patrons of the Ludington Public Library of altered thought processes.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
