Time to Stop Being Bullied by Librarians; The Election Is Over, They Lost

The election is over, they lost big, now it's time to stop being bullied by librarians.  One of American Library Association's lead propagandists started community organizing to intimidate and bully the Lebanon Township Committee in New Jersey over a small library closing.  I learned of the bullying campaign from the propagandist.  So I used the emails see listed to write to the Committee.

Here's what I wrote, and it applies everywhere, not just in NJ, and anyone may copy this without need for any attribution to me:

Greetings Lebanon Township Committee:

This is a notice of outside influence regarding the closing of Bunnvale Library. I, myself, do not take a position either way nor do I even know the circumstance/reasoning nor have I ever even heard of the library before.

This email is to advise that if you see a sudden bump in interest relating to the library, particularly with respect to the decision to close the library, particularly in opposition to the closing of the library, it is likely astroturfed by someone from outside your community who is American Library Association [ALA] affiliated and trained to pressure local boards and commissions into thinking the majority of the public wants the governmental body to decide what ALA in Chicago, IL, would decide but doesn't otherwise have the power to force such a decision.

Martha Hickson, a former school librarian at North Hunterdon-Voorhees High School, is the community organizing ringleader.  She gets the bullying campaign up and running in multiple New Jersey communities, and now in yours.  For example, she attended Roxbury NJ BOE meetings where she handed out placards for the large audience she attracted to wave with an ALA trademark, namely, "Free People Read Freely."  As if children in schools have a First Amendment right to read what NJ 2C:34-3 proscribes or what the US Supreme Court in Board of Education v. Pico ruled they did not have a right to read.

Regarding Lebanon Township, on March 22 she sent out a message on social media (Bluesky), one of her primary means of community organizing, the following message, "Hunterdon NJ is an anti-library region on par w Florida.  LGBTQ+ books have been attacked for 4 years.  Now town fathers are closing Bunnvale Library, a vital resource for educational programs, access to books & a safe space for all ages.  E-mail the Lebanon Twp Comm before 4/2 to save the library."  She then adds a graphic saying, "The Library Staff had NO WARNING!!" and listing all your emails and phone numbers.  She follows up with an additional post of hers providing just your emails.  Indeed, that's where I got your email addresses and even learned of this issue in the first place when someone alerted me.

In a subsequent post dated today, March 23, she adds that she is hopeful the people she has already community organized in other of her campaigns will again spring into action, rent-a-mob style, "To be fair, though, a segment of the N Hunterdon community has risen up time and again to support libraries and push back against the anti-library MAGA crowd. Let's hope they show up for the Bunnvale Library."

I'll save you all the details about how Martha Hickson is so good at rabble rousing that ALA leaders publicly praise her and have adopted her work as their own, New Jersey passed ALA's Right to Read Act because of Martha Hickson, and she's now in a Sarah Jessica Parker film called, "The Librarians."  Suffice to say she is one of ALA's top agitators, she lives in New Jersey, and she rabble rouses across the state.

Hence, if you see a sudden outpouring of interest in your public duties, and if that sudden interest vehemently opposes you, it is likely astroturfed, meaning fake grass roots, whipped up by a professional community organizer seeking to mislead communities into imposing the will of Chicago's American Library Association.

By the way, the BOE where she used to work did indeed adopt the will of ALA instead of NJ citizens seeking application of obscenity law 2C:34-3, so that likely violated school board ethics laws, so I filed an ethics complaint and it is pending.  (I've now been called "intolerable" by Guy Citron for filing that ethics complaint.  I say this because I bet he will get involved in your local matter as he is another one bullying BOEs and commissions statewide, spurred on by Martha Hickson.)  Martha Hickson was able to get about 400 people to show at meetings versus two parents who opposed obscenity (as defined in NJ law) in the school library.  The massive bullying effort worked.  The kids retain access to obscenity in violation of NJ law and US Supreme Court precedent.

The point is some governmental bodies are indeed pressured so greatly that they fold to the braying mob.  Don't be like them.  Fortunately, you now know ahead of time that the community organization manipulation campaign for ALA has already started.  Hopefully that knowledge will help you see through the miasma to ensure compliance with local law, common sense, and community standards, instead of being bullied into accepting what Chicago's ALA would have you do if it only had the power.

Notice too it's not only what ALA would have you do but it's also with the bullying method of name calling, like "the anti-library MAGA crowd."  It's ad hominem argument, not honest debate.  It's bullying.  I don't know you but I bet you are not "anti-library" and are likely pro-library, as it were.  As to "MAGA crowd," that's projection for her ALA crowd and it implies undue influence, also projection.  As to MAGA, that's now proven to be the majority of the country.  Most people now want to make America great again and stop giving social security benefits to people who are older than the USA itself.  Martha Hickson opposes that.  She doesn't realize yet that she's now in the minority, or maybe she does and wants us to live in the past because it suits her political goals.  She doesn't realize people are done with the bullying tactics that she's employing, like she is now in Lebanon Township.

ALA itself has been greatly trimmed back by having its "book ban" hoax be exposed by the US Department of Education, a hoax it itself engendered in the first place with "long-term inoculation."  There's no more need to be intimidated by ALA or any local acolytes, no matter how much outside pressure you receive.

So please make the decision that's best for Lebanon Township, not the one that's best for Chicago's ALA that's using bullying tactics and name calling via local community organizers to try to force its way.

Thank you and good luck.  Should you wish me to provide primary sources for any statement I made, please let me know.

Audiotape of St. Tammany Parish Republican Pol Proves Perilous; Trump and Christians Attacked, P-rn Promoted, ALA Protected - CENSORED BY DISTRICT ATTORNEY

In breaking news, here is a transcript of, and audio recording by, former St. Tammany Parish Library Board of Control member William (Bill) R. McHugh, III, speaking with St. Tammany Parish Council District 13 Councilman Jeff Corbin, pictured top right.  This recording was intended for use in a lawsuit Mr. McHugh just lost big as described here:
The recording was discussed in local media here:
And here is the telephone conversation and its politically-charged nature discussed by Citizens for a New Louisiana on 19 November 2024:

My personal favorite parts of the conversation are where they talk about a law defunding the American Library Association.  Love that!  And it's going to happen more and more now that the US Department of Education exposed the "book ban" hoax and DEI is dead.  And they tell themselves they aren't "gr[00]ming" children.  We all wish it were that simple.

Now, below is the transcript and here is the transcript and full recording synched together for your listening and re-listening pleasure: TRANSCRIPT AND RECORDING BY BILL McHUGH OF JEFF CORBIN HERE [CENSORED PER ORDER OF DISTRICT ATTORNEY, 22ND JUDICIAL DISTRICT, WASHINGTON — ST. TAMMANY PARISHES, CIVIL DIVISION, 214954 KOOP DR, 2G, MANDEVILLE LA 70471].

It's very rare to see a politician, Republican, no less, and a library board member so interested in keeping kids exposed to inappropriate material that they feel people must serve on and stay on library boards to keep out the Christians and the Trump supporters who oppose harming children per American Library Association's 60 years of effort.  But there it is, res ipsa loquitur.

It happens all the time, it's just rare that it got recorded, reported, and we get to see it.  Sad.  Were I residing there, I know for whom I wouldn't vote, nor for any of their supporters or supporting library "alliances," especially not the one ALA created.

NOTE ADDED 5 MARCH 2025:

Apparently I'm such a good investigative reporter that I have been ordered to censor my report.  So I did.

Once ALA wanted me to remove something I published, but I didn't, so go read what Chicago's ALA wanted censored and doesn't want you to read:
This time the censorship request comes from a legitimate source and for a legitimate-sounding reason, as opposed to ALA trying to hide its own internalized homophobia, that is still has, by the way.  I don't believe I've distributed this material past an email or so to governmental leaders in the Parishes and this publication, and I'm deleting the text and any associated links from this post.  I will not provide the transcript/audio to anyone even if asked.  I'm aiming to fully comply with the cease and desist letter posted below. And I wish all parties and all sides well.

CENSORED PER ORDER OF DISTRICT ATTORNEY, 22ND JUDICIAL DISTRICT, WASHINGTON — ST. TAMMANY PARISHES, CIVIL DIVISION, 214954 KOOP DR, 2G, MANDEVILLE LA 70471

Given the following, I'll be publishing the censorship order in full: "Any e-mail may be construed as a public document, and may be subject to a public records request.  The contents of this e-mail reflect the opinion of the writer, and are not necessarily the opinion or policy of the 22nd Judicial District Attorney’s Office or St. Tammany Parish Government."

US Government Exposes 'Book Ban' Hoax; What Parents and School Boards Can Do Next

The United States Department of Education has found the "banned books" claim by the American Library Association [ALA] from Chicago, IL, is a "hoax."

See:

It has ended the charade, dropping multiple actions against parents.  The U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights (OCR) has:
  1. "dismissed 11 complaints related to so-called 'book bans.'  The complaints alleged that local school districts' removal of age-inappropriate, s[]xually explicit, or obscene materials from their school libraries created a hostile environment for students"
  2. pointing out this is, "a meritless claim premised upon a dubious legal theory."
  3. "Effective Jan. 24, 2025, OCR has rescinded all department guidance issued under the theory that a school district’s removal of age-inappropriate books from its libraries may violate civil rights laws."
  4. "OCR is also dismissing six additional pending allegations of book banning"
  5. "and [OCR] will no longer employ a 'book ban coordinator' to investigate local school districts and parents working to protect students from obscene content."
We learn from this:
  1. Claims of book bans from ALA are and have been a hoax
    1. (just as I have been reporting here for decades)
  2. Claims of book bans are "meritless" and "premised upon a dubious legal theory"
    1. (one that ALA made up as part of its approximately 60 year efforts to remove parental rights to better indoctrinate children in schools, powered by taxpayer resources and ALA-trained school librarians: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PZ2pDhKhRAtlNgR7gek_1kcdGFoskHpa/view?usp=sharing)
  3. Claims of book bans are such a hoax that the federal government has dropped eleven complaints about removal of inappropriate materials from school libraries.
  4. Claims of book bans are such a hoax that policy was rescinded where the policy claims hoax book bans violated civil rights laws.
  5. Removing inappropriate books from school libraries doesn't violate civil rights laws.
    1. (Pervasively vulgar and educationally unsuitable books may be removed from school libraries, and removed immediately, without the ALA claim that a review committee is needed, the book must stay on the shelves until the process has ended, etc., all made up requirements from Chicago's ALA that made up these rules in the first place.  So if an inappropriate book is in your school library or a classroom library, it may be removed immediately under the law, namely, the Pico case.  Further, all those trans and gender ideology books are educationally unsuitable, so they may be removed en masse immediately.  That's right, anything educationally unsuitable may be removed immediately.  And when librarians cry foul, remind them they have been working for decades to create an imbalance of books where the trans ideology now vastly outnumbers the books they have slowly weeded out, like Shakespeare and other dead white guys, as ALA puts it.)
  6. Six allegations of book banning are being dropped because book banning claims are a hoax.
  7. A "book banning coordinator" is being fired because book banning in schools is a hoax.
Based on this, what does that mean, what can parents and school boards do next:
  1. All existing Freedom to Read Acts, Libraries For All Acts, Right to Read Acts currently in existence that ALA has promoted, which is all of them, are instantly suspect as they have been based on a book ban hoax.  They should be repealed or legally defeated.  It's law based on a hoax and written by the ALA that perpetrated the hoax in the first place.  It's law that directly harms children.
  2. All legislation seeking to create Freedom to Read Acts, Libraries For All Acts, Right to Read Acts are based on the book ban hoax, so they should be dropped or otherwise disposed.  "The elimination of federal oversight in these matters shifts the responsibility of determining which books are available in school libraries entirely to local school boards, districts, and parents.  For proponents of the change, this represents a victory for parental rights and local governance.  It allows communities to shape their educational environments based on shared values and priorities without federal intervention." (https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/education/news/trump-education-department-ends-biden-era-book-ban-hoax-plan-what-it-means-for-school-libraries-across-us/articleshow/117577727.cms). True.  And the ALA's Freedom to Read Acts, Libraries For All Acts, Right to Read Acts are intentionally designed to take those rights away and leave them in the hands of ALA itself via local ALA organizations, like state associations of school librarians.
  3. All school librarians promoting opposition to book bans are promoting a hoax and using public funding to do so.  They should be required to stop promoting the hoax.  If they refuse, or if they claim to comply but keep using fugitive pedagogy to keep teaching the hoax, they should be fired and their licenses to teach anywhere revoked.  Sounds harsh but do it to a few and the rest will get the message that the law controls, not Chicago's ALA community organizers.
  4. Parents may now assume, instead of that librarians are experts who must know what they are doing so we should defer to them, that school librarians have been hoaxing them for a long time and that providing school children with explicit material is not right, and parents have the right and the power to force school boards to comply with the law instead of with Chicago's ALA.
  5. ALA has reacted to US DOE's action by labeling US DOE, Trump and his voters as arbitrary, cruel, homophobic, racist, dictatorial, and thinking they are above the law, all while wasting tax payer money to defend "book bans."  https://www.ala.org/news/2025/01/book-bans-are-real  Well, US DOE just removed the tax payer waste excuse regarding a situation ALA forced in the first place with its banned books hoax.  And the public now sees ALA's defense is the naked statement "Banned Books Are Real" while attacking people as racist and homophobic, showing they have absolutely no legitimate argument that the banned books hoax they created isn't a hoax.  ALA is just going to keep on attacking people.  Full disclosure, ALA has gotten me involved in five defamation suits to silence me or other parents, and I'm in three now concurrently.  All over the book ban hoax.
  6. Parents can stop being intimidated by school librarians crying about nonexistent book bans.
  7. School superintendents can stop being intimidated by school librarians crying about book bans.
  8. School board members can stop being intimidated by school librarians crying about book bans.
  9. School board members can rewrite school policies to remove any references to Chicago ALA's Library Bill of Rights and other diktat.  For example, get rid of the Library Bill of Rights that makes it age discrimination to keep kids from inappropriate material in direct violation of Board of Education v. Pico, allow inappropriate books to be removed immediately in accordance with Board of Education v. Pico, get rid of book review committees that are from ALA and not in the Pico case, and get rid of policies that require books be reviewed only by review sources librarians claim are legitimate.  In reality, that's a significant way ALA librarians force libraries to heavily balance in favor of gender ideology.  Meanwhile, librarians viciously attack wholesome material as inappropriate for public schools: "Moms For Liberty Published Their First Book; And the America First and America Best Group Used a Russian Illustrator For It," by Kelly Jensen, Well Sourced by Kelly Jensen, 25 January 2025.  And recall ALA trained librarians to block Christians from public library meeting rooms, like Kirk Cameron and Brave Books (https://www.kenningtonreport.com/p/alas-banned-books-and-censorship), while at the same time "sneakily" pushing drag queen gender ideology into public libraries (https://web.archive.org/web/20170612040326/https://www.ala.org/advocacy/intersections-glbt-book-month-dispatch-small-town-librarian).
  10. Currently lawsuits against parents based on the book banning hoax, including those in which I'm involved, will possibly benefit from the federal government exposing the Chicago ALA's hoax.  ALA and its partners like PEN America have ongoing lawsuits in AL, FL, LA, NH, NJ, TX, WY, etc.  The federal government has already dumped 11 cases and 6 investigations.  We all shall see what happens to the current lawsuits ALA instigated.
  11. When you read what the hoax perpetrators themselves say in response to the US Department of Education's action on the book ban hoaxes, notice the response is always to attack the messenger:

Now, everyone, stop being intimidated by librarians, even if they are in Hollywood documentaries about hoax book bans by Sarah Jessica Parker from which librarians are grifting (https://givebutter.com/pen).  Even if they are saying you have to have empathy, like librarian Martha Hickson says when donating $25 to PEN America, as shown above, since empathy is weaponized against you.  Stop your legislators from passing laws written by Chicago's ALA.  Start demanding your school boards dump the policies written by the hoaxers.  Your children being free from indoctrination and s[]xualization is more important than the feelings or even the jobs of school librarians.

ALA's house of cards is about to fall.  Let it.

By the way, here's where I proved it was ALA that infiltrated the White House with the banned books hoax:

Exposing the Book Ban HOAX: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis Press Conference

Book banning is a hoax, as Governor Ron DeSantis explains at his press conference entitled, "Exposing the Book Ban HOAX."  Listen to his press conference.  He destroys the false lies spread by librarians.  Just destroys them.  Are librarians in your state pulling the same shtick?  Absolutely they are.  Listen to Ron DeSantis to know how a real leader really leads and to wise up as to how librarians are pulling the wool over your eyes.

See:

Staff. “Governor Ron DeSantis Debunks Book Ban Hoax.” Office of Governor Ron DeSantis (blog), March 8, 2023. https://www.flgov.com/2023/03/08/governor-ron-desantis-debunks-book-ban-hoax/.

Because of the American Library Association from Chicago, IL, schools nationwide are flooded with many school books filled with educationally unsuitable material of a pervasively vulgar nature.  Oh, and they say parents should not control schools—while they do.  The head of ALA's, get this, "Office for Intellectual Freedom," teaches librarians they know the material is s3xually inappropriate for school children but, who cares, we have kids to s3xualize and indoctrinate, so simply "reframe" the books as "diverse" and "inclusive."  See how this works?
But ultimately, we found that the thing that needs to happen most, and it needs to happen before these bills are introduced, is sustained uh messaging that reframes this issue um that uh that takes it away from the idea that these are inappropriate for minors, or s3xually inappropriate for minors, and promotes them as diverse materials and programming that are about inclusion, fairness, and protection of everybody's right to see themselves, and their families reflected in the books in the public library.

✂️ American Library Association Admits Some School Books Are “S3xually Inappropriate for Minors” So Are Reframed as “Diverse” and “Inclusive.” Webinar: Banned Books Uncensored: LGBTQIA+ Stories & Gender Identity, 2020. https://www.youtube.com/clip/UgkxkMJFBkH5IFLMAaQaDR1iups-9FDZ5tNj.

Try to assert common sense and one is immediately attacked by librarians as a "book banner."  Librarians flood the zone with inappropriate material and anyone speaking out against this is a book banner.

Librarians will even pull out the big guns to spread the lies.  Here's author Judy Blume implying Ron DeSantis is "very scary" while CBS Sunday Morning spreads the "book banning across the US" lie:

Well one state governor has had enough of the lies used to groom school children, Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida.  If only other governors would speak out in this fashion:
So a lot of that what's been going on is an attempt to create a a political narrative and it's a false political narrative and that's, that's bad enough as it is, I guess, but for me uh the important thing is that's a false narrative in service of using our schools, uh, for indoctrination rather than education.  ....  Uh, that is p0rnographic, why would we have that in a media center with the ten year old students, it's just wrong, and a lot of parents now have been empowered uh to make sure that these are appropriate environments....  [p]arents ... should not have to worry about this garbage being in the schools....  They are using your tax dollars to put that in.  How is that an appropriate use of tax payer dollars to put that in, so what you've seen is a lot of uh false narratives put out....
Listen to the press conference to hear again and again for over an hour about the fake lies librarians set up to make people think children have a First Amendment right to inappropriate material or to Marxist indoctrination in schools.  These are the same lies they use nationwide.  Learn the lies.  Expose your own librarians using the same lies in your own communities.  Get them fired like the lying librarian with the empty shelves got fired in Florida.

To follow the lies on Twitter, follow #UniteAgainstBookBans, #FReadom, #BannedBooksWeek, #WeNeedDiverseBooks, #BannedBooks, and this year only, follow #AASL23 for the Tampa, FL, conference in October of the very school librarians spreading the very lies the Governor exposed.

During the press conference a black mother named Tia said she's with Moms For Liberty and that she was attacked for being a "token" black by the people wanting to keep the kids reading the s3xually inappropriate material.  She said it's a lie when librarians claim it's just Republicans or conservatives who seek to "ban" books.  She also called for warning labels on the books [like PAW Prints].

Then more mothers got up to say how bad the books in schools really are.  Gender Queer, of course, was mentioned.  Oh!  A satanic orgy!  I must read that!  And the gay hook up app in This Book is Gay that's in a middle school library.  The school committee voted to keep the grooming book in the school library.  "It is simply not fair to slap on the book banner label."  "It is simply a lie to say this books are banned."  "This is educational malpractice."

Dr. Stacy Hahn of Hillsborough County School Board, so good.  "It is very difficult to be in the minority on a school board."  "We have K-8 schools where these books are in those libraries."  PARENTS: YOU MUST WIN POSITIONS ON SCHOOL BOARDS.

Then the Governor spoke again:
But you know it's also an opportunity cost with the school.  Every minute you spend focusing on some of this p0rno, p0rnographic stuff, well that's less time you're spending on doing the things that really matter to our kids in terms of them getting the education they need in math, and reading, and all these other things, and so it's, um, the only way you make that decision, in my judgment, is if you're putting your own agenda ahead of the wellbeing of the students, and, and that's what we see too, too often.
As to "putting your own agenda ahead of the wellbeing of the students":

Kleinman, Dan. “Openly Marxist American Library Association Needs To Be Defunded.” SafeLibraries® (blog), January 30, 2023. https://safelibraries.blogspot.com/2023/01/openly-marxist-ala.html.

Oh this press conference is all so good.  Listen to it all.  The grooming has got to stop.  We shouldn't need governors to make it stop.  We should and could do it ourselves.  Get on those school boards and make it happen.

Staff. “Governor Ron DeSantis Debunks Book Ban Hoax.” Office of Governor Ron DeSantis (blog), March 8, 2023. https://www.flgov.com/2023/03/08/governor-ron-desantis-debunks-book-ban-hoax/.

NOTE ADDED 25 MAY 2023:

The Democrats are now fund raising off of calling the Governor a fascist book banner.  And to rub it in everyone's faces, they are going to hand out s3xually explicit books to kids all across Florida.  I suggest Ron DeSantis arrest the MoveOn people under appropriate criminal laws against s3xualizing kids that somehow exempts librarians and teachers.  MoveOn comprises neither.  Arrest them.
